Presentation Wondermachine is dedicated to spontaneous music excursions and experimentation, especially focused on interaction between electronics and other improvised forms of music. This should not be a limitation, we want to stay open. The purpose is to encourage the expression of very personal visions, try to achieve fusions of different musical languages and develop new structures. We think there is no final destination, the path we choose is the most important.
Demo Policy We are currently looking for demos, please read the information about our philosophy and listen to our music before to send the tracks. Sending at least 3 tracks (in mp3 320 kbit quality) gives us a better idea of your musical direction. Don’t forget to include your contact information. Only final versions, no edits whatsoever!
Do not send the files directly to our e-mail address! Upload the files somewhere (i.e. Rapidshare/sendspace) and forward us the links, or use our Dropbox.
Please include a short (or large) biography, or a press kit if you have one. We would like to know more about you and your project. Be patient, if your music fits our music direction we will get in touch with you.
Due to the amount of demo requests we receive, we can’t guarantee to give feedback on every single submission. Please don’t be offended if you don’t receive an answer. Please use musicatwondermachinedotnet Links. There are sometimes exceptions, Adriano Mirabile makes here one, and explores new territories, headfirst, proving that he can feel at home also breaking the schemes. This was the homework. The limitations make the music, and in this case, avoiding the standards was the exercise. Preparing the material for Wondermachine has been a long process; the scope of the project has also evolved during its realisation.
The result is a blend of acoustic, electronics, jazz, ambient and dancefloor funk. Topics: electronic, music, techno, house, jazz, experimental, minimal. WOND009 Jarz – Little Things EP Jarz is back! It is a pleasure for us to present you the second release of Jarz on Wondermachine.
Care to detail, disregard of rules, soulful harmonies, field recordings, warm organic backgrounds and unpredictable melodies – the music of Jarz is made of Little Things. Shunsuke Akimoto, our man in Tokyo, contributes with two personal reinterpretations. The third remix comes from Andres Marcos.
Credits Music by Jarz (Gino Maduro) Artwork by Jonathan. Topics: Jarz, Little Things, Electronic, Minimal, Jazz, Soulful, shunsuke akimoto, andres marcos. WOND010 Revy – Waking EP Revy awakens with an array of cryptic feelings and atmospheres in this eclectic package of uniquely textured sound spaces, emotional synthesis, and off kilter rhythms. Without much regard for genre trends, these multi-faceted works run the gamut of Revy’s experimental palette, ranging from deep and spacey broken beat grooves to bleep laden chaos.
John Foley and Ingemar Stalholm join the fray with their best efforts to further probe and massage your. Topics: Techno, Wondermachine. Paris is also called Paname, mod2&nino are deeply influenced by this city and its suburbs.
The music has definitely the French touch: refined, sophisticated and developing in elegant structures. Jazz elements with a minimal approach characterize the music of this brilliant duo, and the result are very contemporary tracks with a strong personal identity.
Mod2&nino play with spaces, tension and release, the music is intense but breathes. This release features inspired remixes by Storlon. Topics: Wondermachine, mod2&nino, Storlon, Three Angles, Andres Marcos. Jazz needs its heroes, its questing pioneers, prepared to prevent the genre ossifying into just another orthodoxy of rigid classifications. It needs its succession of visionaries like Ornette Coleman and groups like Last Exit, to fuss up the conservatives’ suffocating status quos. By necessity the music generated by these saviours won’t satisfy the purists, defying, as it must, the tenets of their safeguarded traditions. These vanguards will operate as the art form’s Trojan horses.
Topics: nujazz, jazz, live, wondermachine, jazz, electronic, improvisation, drums, trombone, ambient. WOND004 Shunsuke Akimoto – Alma EP The adventures of Wondermachine take us to Tokyo. The music of Shunsuke Akimoto is surprising and unpredictable.
Techno is the playground where Shunsuke experiments with spooky sounds and a myriad of different influences. Alma EP features very inspired remixes by Florist and Marteaux. Artwork by Jonathan Mangelinckx Mastering by Jaco Hernandez Released by Wondermachine Music Topics: Shunsuke Akimoto, Alma EP, Wondermachine, Marteaux, Martin Briano, Florist, Jonathan Mangelinckx. This release is something with a special meaning to me.
This EP is dedicated to my son Serafin, and it contains the tracks that gave me the idea to start Wondermachine. The music in this EP is personal and goes thru the paths I followed in music. It is the connecting bridge between electronic and instrumental approaches, strongly influenced by jazz and improvised forms of music. The track Serafin features Sandro Mariotti on soprano saxophone. I play all other instrumental parts on this EP. Topics: Andres Marcos, Serafin, Revellado, Wondermachine, Electronic, Jazz, Minimal, Improvisation, Fabio.
Flat Nandez – Volt Compound (album) Visionary and unclassifiable, Volt Compound is the musical history of Flat Nandez. Influenced by almost everything: house, swing, blues, techno, funk, but also television and poetry – Flat Nandez simply pursues an ideal aesthetic made of surprising contrasts.
Raw and refined, his work integrates every kind of sound source with an impressionistic attitude. The interaction between man and machine encounters instrumentalism in an interdisciplinary. Topics: Techno, Jazz, Swing, House, Rock, Minimal, Experimental, Ambient. The music of Jarz (aka Gino Maduro) tells stories. He has a natural talent for sound design, and brilliantly combines atmospheres with glitch, experimental sounds and jazz elements. He is a out of the box thinking artist with a strong emotional approach. The result is a subtle, very personal sound, with an incredible care for detail.
Revy and Fabio Papa did their best, and bring us radiant interpretations, completing the release with two outstanding remixes. Topics: Jarz, A Story With A Touch, Wondermachine, Electronic, Jazz, Experimental, Soulfoul, Ambient.
Revy goes Off The Grid with a departure from his usual mixing approach, veering his glitch laden aesthetics into something more akin to an experimental mixtape rather than densely layered techno tracks. Beat matching goes to the wayside in this journey into the more esoteric zones of his hard drives, rich with clicks, bleeps, and haunting emotional melodies. And while the mix would certainly not exist without technology where it is today, it should also serve as a motivation to allow yourself. Topics: wondercast, techno, glitch, abstract, experimental. It was a calm and hot summer evening. Fabio asked me to come to his studio and record a live session. I was already a couple of hours too late, I prepared up my material, including a couple of forgotten machines that were lying down in a corner since ages, l and put everything in a big backpack, mounted on my motorbike and crossed the city from an extremity to the other.
After setting up my gear, I started playing without a clear goal, just jamming and improvising atmospheres. This Wondercast. Topics: Live Electronics, Wondercast, Electronic Jazz, Improvisation. This is my personal definition of Ambient. Electronic music has many facets, beneath the dancefloor, you can evade to uncountable different sounds. My personal vision of music is like walking, my hands in the pockets, and my head in a dream.
